OK, so I'm not much of a Blogger!!!

So, my last post was 6 months ago, so what? Ha ha. I am a goof. I just don't have time for all of the things I want to do. Here is a brief catch-up of the first half of 2009!

1) Can't believe it is June. That's all I can say.
2) School is out for summer. Meghan is just hanging out, Emma is ready to go to kindergarten tomorrow, (too bad she's got about 3 months to wait), and Kate is busy with cheer practice every day from 6 to 9 am followed by summer school from 9:30 to 2 pm. (She wanted to "get ahead" so she is taking two classes so that she can take even more classes during the school year. She's crazy.)
3) Work at the second job has picked up from what it was over the winter months. Now I get to work just about every shift I sign up for. Not sure that's a great thing, but it is money.
4) Slowly paying off debt, yahoooooo!!!!! Seeing some real actual results and that is amazing considering the obstacles I am fighting.
5) Had a real vacation recently; got to visit my dad and stepmom in Florida for 6 days. Took Emma with me and we had a grand time.
6) Planted my first veggie garden in more than 10 years. It remains to be seen how well it will do with all of the unusual rain we are having, but I am excited. Tomatoes, beans, squash, carrots, radishes, pumpkins.
7) I guess we've adopted another cat. She showed up on our doorstep about 3 weeks ago and hasn't left since. Emma named her "Bella" ("you know, Mom, from Twilight?") . She won't come inside but she won't leave, either. She's a sweet and loveable little thing. We'll see what happens when the weather gets rough.

OK, that's about it. I'll try to be better, really!!!!

Where have I been????

Oh my gosh I cannot believe I haven't posted anything in almost a month! Where in the world has December gone??????? It is now 2 days before Christmas and I am working for the next two nights and I still have most of the presents to wrap and all the neighbor gifts to deliver and two kinds of cookies still to make and a soup for my Christmas Eve party at work. Uh, I think I'm in trouble!!

We got a virus in our computer at home and we can't make the computer work at all! It totally BITES! I have pictures to print off for christmas presents and I can't do that. I can't pay my bills on-line. I can't post to my blog :( (I am at work right now taking some down-time). If anyone knows any tricks on how to remove MALWARE, send them my way.

There is so much I want to post about: Twilight, snowstorms, "understanding 'twistmas' ", decorating, Mommy and Me time, but I have to get back to work. Hopefully this list will help me to remember what I wanted to write about.

I hope everyone is enjoying the season and taking time to do what's important to them.

Thankful

1) I am thankful for a job! (two jobs, actually) In this economy when so many people are losing so much everyday and many don't know if they'll be working tomorrow or not, I am grateful for my ability to keep a job.
2) Pasteurized milk.
3) I am thankful that when my cat kills a bird, he doesn't bring it to me as a "present".
4) Kids that live in the neighborhood and are the same age as my daughter, Emma. It is so nice that she has several friends to play and laugh with.
5) Excedrin Migraine.

WOW!

Gas is down to $1.72 at my corner station. I am ecstatic! I keep thinking, "It can't possibly go down any more," but then it does. yahoo and thanks for small miracles.

From My Childhood

When I was younger, about 7 years old I think, I received this Children's Bible for Christmas. I remember sitting on the couch and reading it for hours. Last week when I was at the DI, I found this copy of the same exact book! It is in pristine condition, and it brings back so many memories : ) I was so excited to find it. I think it was probably the start of my whole religious quest.

Thankful

1) For my health. My hips and back aren't too great, but I am healthy!
2) The gorgeous weather we are having! It is so nice to be having 60 degree days into the middle of November.
3) Kate's recovery from her knee surgery. She's just been "upgraded" and only has to go to therapy once a week now instead of twice a week.
4) The chitter chatter of Emma's constant play. I love to listen to her when she doesn't know I am there.
5) A starry sky. It makes me think about more than just myself.

When Bambi Met Suzuki

I was driving home this morning from work at oh-dark-thirty (5:15 am)... coming down the mountain just minding my own business when BAM!!! A deer ran into the side of my car. Now, what is so troubling about this event, other than it happened, is that STUPIDLY the same thing happened to me about 8 months ago, only I was coming into work at about 11:00 p.m. Same exact place on the road, same place on my car!! Driver's side door and the front panel. Last time it was over $1700 in damage. I was sooo furious. I am ok, the car is worse than last time, and I don't know about the deer cause she ran off.
